You’re invited to tour Cameco’s Port Hope Conversion Facility!
Cameco is pleased to welcome members of the Port Hope and District Chamber of Commerce to tour its Port Hope Conversion Facility (PHCF).

Cameco is a global supplier of uranium processing services that produce the fuel for the generation of clean-air electricity. More than half of Ontario’s electricity is generated using the fuel products produced by Cameco’s Fuel Services Division, right here in Ontario.

Cameco leaders and subject matter experts will share information about its local operations and activities and touch on the important role the operations play on the world stage. You will then take a tour of the facilities where you can learn how uranium trioxide (UO₃) from Cameco’s Blind River Refinery is converted to either uranium dioxide (UO₂) or to uranium hexafluoride (UF₆).

Entry Requirements
Identification: All visitors are required to present one piece of government issued picture identification, upon arrival to security. (Driver’s Licence, Passport or Health card is acceptable)
PPE: The following requirements apply to all visitors touring our facilities:
  • Long pants are required, no skirts, capris or shorts. Flat closed-in shoes or safety shoes are required, no open toes, heels, high heels or sandals.
  • No cameras are permitted on site, please leave in vehicle or security will hold them. Note: Cell phone cameras will be covered by security.
  • Personal items such as coats, jackets, purses, etc., can be left in a secure location during the tours, if visitors do not wish to leave them in their vehicles.
  • Before the tour, please let your tour guide know if you have a pacemaker, are pregnant or you have any concerns regarding climbing of open stairs.
